Clinical pharmacists are under more pressure to deliver than at any other time in the history of the NHS. Cuts to budgets and staff means that clinical pharmacists are more directly involved in patient treatments, formulary and dispensary decision-making and delivery of services.
Pharmacy and pharmacists roles, within the NHS, are therefore constantly changing. And with these changes comes an increased pressure on time - In fact a survey carried out at this year's Congress showed that:
There is, however, a solution:
On 26th and 27th April 2013, The Congress attracted over 1,757 clinical pharmacists, chief parmacists and medicine management teams to the ExCeL in London, providing them with the opportunity to focus for two days on their training and educational needs, CPD requirements, and to meet and network with other pharmacists, suppliers and pharmaceutical company representatives.
As a place for suppliers to meet with customers the Congress was a resounding success.
88.3% of delegates met suppliers at The Congress that they had not had the chance to meet before

The Congress is on a scale never seen before in the UK. And its unique, distinct format means that pharmacists and industry are able to talk to each other like never before.

The Clinical Pharmacy Congress is a great idea. The delegates are exactly our target audience and we’ve met new and existing customers here. You don’t need halls and halls of stands to have a good show. This event gets back to the technical detail; it really fills a niche.
