Keynote Address - Leadership in clinical pharmacy

Biography:

Leadership Specialist and Principal Author of the new NHS Leadership Framework
Paul Long is an independent management consultant specializing in behavior change and organizational systems development. He is one of the lead authors of the new Leadership Framework launched by the Secretary of State last autumn, and which is now being widely embedded throughout the NHS and the healthcare sector, and the recently published Leadership Competency Framework for pharmacy professionals.

This is the first time that there has been a single agreed standard that provides a common understanding of leadership and a consistent approach to leadership development that spans the educational, regulatory and professional sectors and aligns with those in the NHS.

In addition to his work with organisations, Paul Long has written many high profile reports and policy documents as well as articles and academic papers on clinical leadership and systems approaches to improving the safety and quality of health care.

Most recently he has just completed research to identify key leadership behaviors for integrating health and social care services.
