Nobody likes to talk about failure: how to detect and manage heart failure in primary care
Nobody likes to talk about failure. Heart Failure is a misunderstood and misdiagnosed condition, as malignant as some of the most common cancers in the UK. 80% of patients are currently diagnosed as part of an acute hospital admission yet nearly half present to primary care in the months beforehand. Many people are living with undiagnosed heart failure. With access to evidence-based treatment patients can live longer and have an improved quality of life.
Speakers
Clare Thomson, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer's Clinical Fellow and Advanced Pharmacist (CV and Heart Failure) - Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Faye Windsor, Heart failure Specialist Pharmacist - Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
