This aim of this session is to give an overview of how medicines shortages are mitigated and managed on a national level. The session will give an overview of the medicines supply governance, and the responsibilities of the various teams and organisations. It will give some insight into the process via which a medicines supply issue is managed nationally and how the issues are communicated. It will also explain the medicines shortages tier system and how the NHS is kept abreast of shortages.
