We know that leadership development programmes improve leadership behaviours and skills. Better leadership leads to better patient care, experience, and outcomes.
In this session we describe the formation and review of a pharmacy technician (PT) leadership and management (L&M) community of practice (CoP) at Nottingham Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Session objectives
Highlight the enabling policy, legislation, and regulation to support the development of pharmacy technician practice.
Outline the design and delivery of a pharmacy technician leadership & management CoP.
Provide the leadership and management CoP programme aims and objectives.
Highlight the CoP participant self-assessment process.
Describe how we measured the success of the CoP programme.
Discuss the CoP next steps and describe a range of quality improvement projects being implemented by the pharmacy technician group.
