Supporting PGD and Medicines Mechanisms use in practice

10 May 2024
Technical Services Theatre
Supporting PGD and Medicines Mechanisms use in practice

Patient Group Directions and medicines mechanisms are widely used across all sectors of healthcare to support the safe and legal administration and supply of medicines.

In this session Jo and Jen from the SPS Medicines Governance Do Once team will outline the resources the team have developed to support Patient Group Direction and Medicines Mechanisms use in practice.

The SPS Medicines Governance Do Once programme will be outlined including a summary of the national PGD template programme and the medicines governance principles which can be applied at local level to help prevent unnecessary duplication.

Available PGD training resources will be discussed, and Jo is particularly looking forward to introducing the new ‘PGD Explainer’ short videos to attendees.

Jen will demonstrate the SPS website with a specific focus on PGD and medicines mechanism related resources and advise how the team can be contacted to support organisations with specific enquiries.
