It has been nearly 2 years since the publication of the NHS LTWP in June 2023 and are systems any closer to delivering the pharmacy workforce transformation ambitions set out in the plan?  In this presentation NHS Kent and Medway showcase 2 innovation projects (Coach a Pharmacist Prescriber – CAPP and Specialised Training and Innovation Retention Scheme - STAIRS) demonstrating:

  1. How these changes affecting pharmacy have been developed using a system-wide approach
  2. How to strengthen relationships across sectors and beyond to achieve strong collaboration and partnership working
  3. Lessons learnt along the way
  4. Building on the foundations and ambitions of the projects to extend beyond the pilot programmes
  5. The actionable steps we can all take to strengthen foundations locally to support pharmacy workforce transformation

By the end of the session attendees will be able to:

  • Describe and discuss the aims of the NHS long-term workforce plan (to train, retain and reform).
  • Describe examples of innovative practice and associated learning.
  • Describe actionable steps to support pharmacy workforce transformation.
