IETP reforms – implementing the new foundation training year

Join Pharmacy Deans Atif Shamim and Nick Haddington to explore the implementation of the IETP reforms in England, with a focus on foundation training in 2025/26. The session will include an update on the Practice Based Assessment Strategy for England, how independent prescribing will be supervised and assessed, the NHS England e-portfolio and the latest news from the National Recruitment Scheme.

1. Describe the role of NHS England in the management of all foundation training sites in England
2. Develop understanding of how the Assessment Strategy will be used to provide a consistent approach to how trainee pharmacists are supported and assessed in the FTPP
3. Explore the supervision and assessment of independent prescribing in the FTPP, including the role of the DPP
4. Review how the National Recruitment Scheme supports the equitable recruitment and allocation of trainee pharmacists in England
