Dependence forming medications (DFMs) – how to identify patients on multiple DFMs and deprescribe
Sajida and Sue will discuss dependence forming medicines and discuss the data, tools and resources available to help healthcare professionals identify, review and reduce prescribing using shared decision making. They will focus on PrescQIPP resources developed to support this important area of work.
 
The learning objectives are to:
  • Identify and define what a DFM is.
  • Understand the problems linked with DFM use.
  • Understand how to use data to identify where prescribing of DFMs is an issue.
  • Be aware of resources available to support reviewing patients and deprescribing where appropriate.
