Empowering women in pharmacy
09 May 2025
Strategy & Policy Forum

In 1905, the National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP) was formed from the small minority of pharmacists who were women, and they were active in campaigning for women to have the vote.
Today, most of the profession are female, but the need for NAWP continues. Having become part of the PDA as a Network in 2020, NAWP is now celebrating its 120th year.
Membership of the NAWP Network is now at record levels and glass ceilings are being passed, but there is still more to do to empower women in pharmacy.
This session will discuss the work of NAWP and the next steps in ensuring the progress towards the full and equal opportunities for women in pharmacy continue to be realised.
