Inhalers account for 3% of the total NHS carbon footprint, and 73 million inhalers are prescribed in the UK each year . Currently there exists no national inhaler recycling scheme and a 12 month pilot in east Kent, recycling over 40,000 inhalers, has now expanded to the entire county.
