The UEA’s novel approach to demonstrating assurance of post-registration practice in early career pharmacists
In 2023, UEA launched the Newly Qualified Pharmacist programme, collaborating with the RPS to establish programmatic assessment for pharmacists. Supported by workplace educational supervisors, learners demonstrate skills aligned with multiprofessional practice. The first cohort achieved a pass rate above the national average, being the first in England to be nationally benchmarked against the RPS curriculum. We will share how our collaboration with the RPS and other organizations, quality assurance of workplace-assessed evidence and supervision of learners has ensured post-registration practice in all RPS curriculum domains. Additionally, we will detail how our expertise in the RPS credentialing process has ensured success.
- Apply strategies for effective supervision of post-registration learners in practice.
- Effectively map clinical and non-clinical skills and behaviours to the four pillars of multiprofessional practice and the RPS post-registration foundation curriculum.
- Analyse the role of evidence triangulation in the quality assurance of post-registration practice.
