Early career pharmacist prescribing: implementation and support

This session will outline the development of pharmacist prescribing. It will explain why the Pharmacist Enhanced Practice Pathway (PEPP) is needed, what the 2026/27 pilot will test, and how the pathway aligns with the wider reform of initial education and training, stakeholder feedback, and the future vision for pharmacist practice. Delegates will have the opportunity to understand the offer, how employers and teams can engage, and how PEPP will shape national early career pharmacist development.

  • Explain the drivers for the need to support new-registrant prescribers
  • Outline the structure and purpose of the PEPP pilot, recognising how the PEPP pilot fits within the wider pharmacist development continuum
