This presentation provides an overview of the evolving role and scope of pharmacists in Canada, emphasizing how provincial regulatory bodies and funding models shape variations in scope and services across the country. It focuses on Nova Scotia, outlining the current scope of practice for pharmacy professionals and their expanding role in patient-centered care. Key findings will be presented from the Community Pharmacy Primary Care Clinic (CPPCC) research, demonstrating positive impacts on patient outcomes, accessibility, and healthcare system efficiency, along with factors contributing to success such as collaboration and pharmacist expertise. The presentation also reviews currently funded and offered services within CPPCC and other pharmacy settings. Finally, it explores ongoing research and implementation efforts, including the integration of technology (AI Scribes, provincial pharmacy booking platform, EMR), interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare and community partners, and public education initiatives aimed at improving awareness, access, and coordination of care.
