Nutrition to support menopause: navigating menopause with smart nutrition choices
Good nutrition is vital at all stages of life and is especially important for women. Symptoms associated with menopause are often blamed on fluctuating hormone levels. However, nutritional factors may also contribute to some menopause symptoms, and these may be overlooked within some healthcare settings.
This talk will explore:
- how nutrition affects health and how dietary factors may contribute to some symptoms experienced by women during perimenopause and menopause
- how a targeted nutritional approach to manage gut health and micronutrient deficiency symptoms may help to reduce some symptoms during menopause
Following the completion of a nutritional medicine MSc, Lisa Jamieson, a pharmacist for over 30 years – and personal experience of managing several long-term conditions with a nutritional approach – is now on a mission to try to educate others about how we can use nutrition to improve quality of life and health outcomes, and reduce the need for medication.
