The session aims to provide a brief overview of epilepsy including a recap of the general priniciples of drug treatment. Followed by looking in more detail at some of the newer developments including the place of cannabidiol in treatment, and newer options for the management of refractory epilepsy.

  • Participants will be able to:
  • - define epilepsy and it's classifications
  • - discuss the general principles surrounding drug treatment choices in epilepsy
  • - describe the place in therapy of cannabidiol and cenobamate
