Shared Medication Records are coming: Are you ready?

This session will be highlighting interoperable shared/ consolidated medication records and the impact its implementation will have on care delivery. Shared records are already in use in some parts of the NHS, however access and use is not widespread. Currently there isn’t a fully interoperable shared medication record within the UK. This session will explore the benefits, risks and challenges of implementing a shared medication record across an ICS or region. As well as examine the impact to the pharmacy profession and wider workforce across different health and care sectors.
Learning outcomes
- To explore the impact that the implementation of a interoperable shared/ consolidated medication record will have across all sectors of the NHS in England
- To give an outline of the benefits, challenges and risks with implementing a shared medication record across an ICS or region
- To review the health, social, economic and cultural impact of an interoperable shared medication record on individuals, patients, public and health and care staff.
