Taking a more holistic approach when considering value from a medicine

14 May 2022
Medicines Optimisation
Taking a more holistic approach when considering value from a medicine

How do we ensure that we use a cost-effective evidence based approach to biologic pathways whilst also keeping clinicians and commissioners happy? Using the example of the inflammatory bowel disease pathway at Gloucestershire Hospitals, we will explore the difficulties in knowing how to best sequence biologics to optimise outcomes for patients while also ensuring the best value for the NHS.

In addition, a closer look at the importance of considering the long-term use of medicines when reviewing their value, identifying the true cost of medicine delivery and working collaboratively across integrated care systems to ensure high cost medicines are optimised – can we choose the right medicine at the right time for our patients?

This is a promotional symposium initiated and funded by Takeda UK Ltd and is for UK healthcare professionals only. Takeda representatives will be present at the symposium and Takeda products may be discussed.
