We will cover the background to stoma formation and the different stomas pharmacists may encounter. The focus will be on gastrointestinal stomas. Pharmaceutical management will be covered with a focus on pharmacokinetics and clinical governance. We will also be discussing the use of intravenous fluids and parenteral nutrition and the long term considerations that need to be made when managing these patients.
