22 Nov 2025
Clinical Theatre 2

This session will provide an overview of the pharmacogenomic ambitions described in the government’s 10 Year Health plan for England as they relate to pharmacy practice.
We will discuss the current landscape of pharmacogenomic testing in the NHS and how the work in the NHS Pharmacogenomic and Medicines Optimisation Network of Excellence moves us towards those longer term aims.
What is expected of pharmacy professionals now and as our roles evolve in this new plan and where do the opportunities lie?
How does pharmacogenomics fit with service delivery and enable wider aspirations for pharmacy as a profession?

  • Be able to discuss the pharmacogenomic ambitions in the NHS 10 year plan
  • Identify ongoing research and transformation in the field
  • Understand pharmacy current and future roles in pharmacogenomics
  • Locate resources to expand knowledge beyond the session
