The benefits of enhanced recovery within surgery is being increasingly recognised within the UK, a quicker approach to recovery after surgery and improved patient experience. In recent years, the role of the clinical pharmacist within surgery has also evolved with more emphasis being placed on medicines optimisation peri-operatively. This session aims to summarise some of the strategies that can be implemented to optimise the management of long-term conditions and medication peri-operatively with consideration of COVID-19 and its implications.
