NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS) will describe their involvement in the Medicines Governance Do Once programme.  This work stream was part of the recommendations of the second Carter report and aims to reduce unnecessary duplication of work within the system.

The development of national Patient Group Direction (PGD) templates will be discussed.  The PGDs published to date will be outlined and the future care pathways for development will be shared.

Our work to support policy development within organisations has focussed on the underlying principles that need to be considered.  We will describe the work we have developed, the limitations of the programme and the plans for potential outputs.
