Pharmacists in primary care speak out: your GPP will see you now
With almost half of pharmacists in GP/Primary Care Network roles accepting a salary cut to transition into this sector, and 84% believing there is scope for a model contract that outlines minimum standards for employment terms and conditions, it is clear there is work to be done in general practice. In a sector which sees significant movement in roles, pharmacists in England told the Guild that their roles weren't well understood or well-integrated into the multidisciplinary team, and that support to develop skills and build clinical confidence was lacking.
Bringing together Nathan Burley and Laura Buckley, President and Primary Care Lead for the Guild respectively, President of the Primary Care Pharmacy Association, Graham Stretch, and Melissa Cochrane from Pharmacist Support, this panel will discuss the results of the questionnaire and consider what needs to be done and how to positively influence change for this sector.
