ONLINE CLINICAL PHARMACY GATHERING SILVER LINING FOR INDUSTRY THIS YEAR

LONDON: 20th October 2020 - Hundreds of Clinical Pharmacy Professionals gathered online from 23rd to 25th September for the first Clinical Pharmacy Congress (CPC) Live, a digital learning event for something missing here lead by world-class educators and industry experts. With over 1,600 users and 64 sessions, the event, first of its kind for the pharmacy sector, has been deemed a great success.

''CPC is first and foremost a platform to educate the pharmacy profession. We know it's been a stressful year for everyone and we wanted to use our networks to help the pharmacy community during the Covid-19 pandemic. Of course, we were disappointed to not meet in person this year but we are thrilled with the response to our first live, digital education offering. Engaging speakers, live-streamed, high-quality CPD that was broken down into digestible instalments has really resonated with our audience.'' Laura Shapiro, Event Director.

CPC traditionally runs in the Spring, live at the ExCeL London. However earlier in the year, the event team made the tough decision to postpone in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and for the safety of all delegates, the speakers, exhibitors, and partners. The organisers still wanted to bring clinical pharmacy professionals together and so the first ever CPC Live was launched.'

The online event features four theatres, a plethora of posters presentations, round tables discussions and pre/pro reg pharmacists calculation workshops. Dr Keith Ridge led the keynote presentation on his vision for the future of clinical pharmacy where he was ably supported by Anisha Soni one of this year's cohort of Clinical Fellow and Rahul Singal, Chief Pharmacist, NE London NHS Foundation Trust.

Laura Shapiro added:'"We know how busy healthcare professionals are, which is why we recorded all the sessions and even though the virtual event registration is closed we have opened up a new CPC Forum where once you are signed up you will be sent a password so you can access all the content from 2019 and 2020 events plus get details before everyone else relating to CPC going forwards.'

Feedback from delegates included:

'Excellent way to connect with others in our profession during this difficult period of time. Thank you for creating such a great interactive programme.'

'I think the online CPC this year was a total success. Very well organised, extremely interesting talks and easy to log on and watch. Thank you so much Laura and team.'

'I have never experienced a CPC event before and attending the virtual event blew my mind, learnt so much and got offered several opportunities for connection. I cannot imagine how much fun it will be to attend the event in person.'

The Clinical Pharmacy Congress is due to return this 14th to 15th May 2021 at ExCeL London ' we can't wait to see you all.
