Anne E Kinnear, BScPharm MSc GPhC
Advanced Clinical Lead Pharmacist, Primary Care,
Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, NHS Lothian
After a year post qualification spent in the pharmaceutical industry and on completion of an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Anne worked in Respiratory Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Medicine of the Elderly and Stroke as a hospital clinical pharmacist. Becoming an Honorary Lecturer/Teaching Fellow at Strathclyde University led to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and MSc project supervisory roles. A role facilitating publications for the regional pharmacy Education and Research Department resulted in the publication of a number of these projects. Anne was a member of the local Managed Clinical Network for Stroke and of the national Stroke SIGN Guideline group which led to the development and delivery of a Stroke teaching pack for pharmacists for National Education Scotland (NES). After becoming an independent prescriber, Anne made the move to Primary Care seven years ago to help develop the role of the pharmacist working in GP practices, continuing the role of MSc supervisor to primary care pharmacists.
