Barry is the inaugural Chair of Sustainability for the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists. He is also a Principal Pharmacist at Public Health Scotland -Scotland’s lead national agency for improving and protecting the health and wellbeing of all of Scotland’s people. He has a background in community pharmacy, primary care and academia. He recently completed a Masters of Public Health from the University of Edinburgh. His thesis explored the relationship between prescribing activity and the environmental concentrations of pharmaceuticals in Scotland. He is a member of several Scottish groups related to pharmaceutical pollution and environmental sustainability.
