Catherine Tucker - Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Catherine Tucker

Senior Clinical Pharmacist - Integrated Care Team, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
A pharmacist for 23 years, Catherine has a range of experience in community, hospital and primary care pharmacy. Having previously worked on the cardiac critical care units at Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Trust, working with both adult and paediatric heart and lung transplants has given her an insight into complex medication regimes, interactions and formulation. A Senior Clinical Pharmacist and Independent prescriber in the Integrated care team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Catherine is currently working on a project with Northumbria Lipid clinic, local GP surgeries and AHSN, creating a pharmacist secondary care lipid clinic and finding patients in primary care who require lipid optimisation. This also includes identifying patients with Familial Hypercholesterolaemia and assessing if they meet criteria for genetic testing. With a keen interest in education and research, Catherine is a CPPE tutor North East and regularly delivers workshops and has published several articles and poster abstracts.
