Ciara worked in mental health for over 18 years, holding a variety of roles, predominantly in Secure Care settings. For the final eight years of her service, she was the Technician Team and Dispensary Manager, leading a dedicated team in a highly specialised environment. Alongside leadership, Ciara has a strong interest in training and education. In 2024, she joined Aston University, where she coordinates a range of professional experiences, including placement opportunities for pharmacy students. Ciara is passionate about advancing the pharmacy technician profession, particularly within mental health. In 2017, she founded Psych Pharmacy Technicians—a platform created with CMHP to support Mental Health Pharmacy Technicians by fostering networking, sharing best practices, and inspiring professional growth. She also contributes to the wider profession as a committee member of the APTUK/CMHP Mental Health Branch and a Fitness to Practice Committee member for the GPhC.
