Clare trained as a specialist cardiovascular pharmacist and completed her prescribing qualification in heart failure in 2015, whilst working as the lead pharmacist for the integrated heart failure team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. In 2021, Clare moved into primary care to improve cardiovascular care and help integrate services. She was the lead clinical pharmacist and pharmacist advanced practitioner in cardiovascular for a large PCN in Surrey.
Clare is currently working at the RPS as one of the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer's Clinical Fellows.
Clare is education lead of the UKCPA Heart Failure group and co-author of the “Competency Framework for Pharmacists and Heart Failure” (Int J Pharm Pract, 2018). She is a member of the policy and media committee of the British Society for Heart Failure.
