Dave Williams
Customer Experience Manager,
Dot Inc.
Dave Williams is a passionate advocate for braille and tactile literacy, born with Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), a rare genetic eye condition that causes blindness from birth. He has dedicated his career to promoting the value of braille and ensuring blind and partially sighted people can live independently, confidently, and with dignity.
Dave’s commitment to accessibility extends through his work with the Braillists Foundation, where he advocates for embedding accessibility into everyday products and services.
Dave’s lived experience brings a powerful, practical perspective to his work. Personal moments, such as reading bedtime stories with his sighted son using a braille display, or completing the London Marathon to be awarded with a braille embossed medal, highlight the role tactile literacy plays in independence, connection, and family life.
