Dionne Spence

General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Since January 2024, Dionne Spence has held the position of Chief Enforcement Officer and Deputy Registrar for the General Pharmaceutical Council, providing the strategic and operational oversight of the end-to-end fitness to practise function and the strategic leadership of the Council's enforcement function including education providers. Prior to this she had over 20 years-experience of leading diverse multi-disciplinary operational teams to deliver against challenging objectives through periods of significant change while delivering sustained performance improvements. Prior to her role with the GPhC, Dionne was the Director of Regulatory Operations for the General Optical Council where she successfully led the team to achieve and sustain the Professional Standards Authority’s 18 Standards of Good Regulation. Dionne has an unapologetic and unwavering commitment to equality and inclusion, sponsoring and developing effective staff networks to ensure that there is always a safe space for staff issues to be raised without detriment.
