Emily Wighton
Regional Senior Integration Lead (London)
As a Darzi Fellow with over 20 years of experience in health and social care, Emily has a healthy curiosity and appreciation of people, systems and context when approaching ‘wicked’ problems. She is currently the Regional Pharmacy Integration Lead for London, focussed on digital transformation and collaborative commissioning, as well as optimising community pharmacy services in London.
Emily specialises in networked learning, clinically-led data-driven service improvement and successfully supported the implementation of the Enhanced Health in Care Homes (EHCH) framework by ICSs in England, resulting in the model’s inclusion in the NHS Long Term Plan as an exemplar of integrated care model design. As Head of Programmes for the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), she set up the inaugural CSO Clinical Fellowship for Healthcare Scientists, focussing on women in STEM. She also oversaw the development of national best practice guidance around the blood culture pathway to tackle AMR in sepsis.
She qualified as a pharmacist in 2003, and has clinical and management experience in acute, community and primary care and urgent care (NHS111) health services, specialising in palliative care.
