I have been a pharmacist for 34 years, and I first worked in Boots as a Saturday Person over 40 years ago. I have worked as a Pharmacist in Hospitals, Community Pharmacy, Primary Care and Industry. I have focused and then specialised in market access, reimbursement and funding flows. I have been involved with Low Molecular Weight Heparins for over 20 years and was heavily involved in campaigns that led to The Health and Safety (Sharp Instruments in Healthcare Regulations) 2013. This led to all of the major brands of LMWH having safety devices incorporated. Since 2012 I have been active in understanding and influencing policies related to Biosimilars and LMWHs. I have experience interacting with the DHSC, NHSE and their devolved equivalents, with CMU, The Professional bodies, The royal Colleges and Regulatory bodies. I work with all the significant pharmaceutical chains and the pre-wholesaler and wholesaler in the UK. I have even begun to have interactions with semi-mythical ICBs.
