Gareth Malson

Gareth became a GP Pharmacist in 2016, and was appointed Lead Pharmacist for Chester East PCN in 2020. He is also a training programme director for advanced practice (pharmacists) for NHS England in the north west – a role in which he promotes the incorporation of research into general practice pharmacy teams. He is also regional vice president of the Primary Care Pharmacy Association for North West England.
He specialises in diabetes and cardiorenal condition management, and is his surgery's clinical lead for these conditions, along with being responsible for developing its research strategy.
Prior to becoming a GP pharmacist, Gareth worked for 6 years as a Medicines Management and Cardiology Pharmacist at Arrowe Park Hospital, and spent 2.5 years working as a writer and editor for the Pharmaceutical Journal.
