Hanan Hamad

Hanan Hamad is the Interprofessional Education Lead at the Reading School of Pharmacy, University of Reading, and an Advanced Practice Pharmacist with over 20 years of experience, including 10 years as an independent prescriber across primary and secondary care.
Her work focuses on workforce development through interprofessional education, clinical supervision and structured placement models to support the integration of pharmacists in general practice with a particular focus on cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention and management.
She has also worked as a Regional Lead Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP) as part of the Teach and Treat project, supporting the supervision and development of prescribing trainees in general practice.
As lead for the PharmaCVD project, she is investigating how structured general practice placements for pharmacy students can enhance pharmacy placement capacity in general practice and improve cardiovascular disease prevention outcomes. She is an active national and international speaker on clinical pharmacy practice and education.
