Hannah Kinsey
Course Director of the Postgraduate Pharmacist Professional Programmes (incl. NQP/PGDip),
University of East Anglia
Hannah is the Course Director for the Newly Qualified Pharmacist Training Programme with PGDip at the University of East Anglia, a Foundation Pharmacy Training Facilitator for Health Education England, East of England, and a pharmacist at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
Hannah’s PhD involved developing and evaluating a training model for foundation pharmacists working in a hospital setting that sought to better equip trainees for practice. The training model, the longitudinal placement, has since been adopted at 14 hospitals across England and this number is increasing. The principles that underpin the design and implementation of the longitudinal placement create and foster an effective training environment. These principles can be applied to any sector of practice to help create a supportive space for prescriber training within the foundation year.
