Joseph Oakley

Joseph is a senior educationalist with a special interest in clinical assessment. Joseph has a PGCE, has undertaken the HPAC International Advanced Assessment Course and has presented at a number of international conferences on aspects of clinical assessment. Joseph is responsible for the development of the RPS post-registration development pathway and has acted as the senior responsible officer overseeing the development of all RPS post-registration curricula and credentialing assessments, including those relating to advanced and consultant level pharmacy practice. Prior to joining the RPS, Joseph previously held Head of Assessment roles at both the College of Optometrists and Royal College of Physicians where he gained experience in the development and quality assurance of patient-centred curricula, as well as in the strategic development and delivery of large-scale high-stakes international registration assessments. In addition to his substantive position at the RPS, Joseph holds a number of additional roles within assessment. He has worked for over a decade as a senior examiner for GCSE French and is an independent member on the Qualifications and Assessment Committee for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He also works with the General Medical Council as both an advisor for the Applied Knowledge Test of the Medical Licensing Assessment and member of the Anaesthesia Associates Registration Board.
