Leanne Clews
Pharmacy Dean - Quality, Workforce, Training and Education Directorate,
NHS England
Leanne qualified as a pharmacist in 2005, working in a busy District General Hospital, where she spent her time as a resident, which was a valuable and demanding experience. Leanne soon became inspired with education and training, which paved her way as a pre-registration and diploma tutor and led to 10 years in academia. Here, she headed the pharmacy practice team to successful GPhC accreditations of the Undergraduate MPharm, and later led Postgraduate programmes across the Midlands and Northwest. Her research portfolio centres on pharmacy education, and specifically team-based learning, where Leanne fronted the introduction and development of Team-based Learning in the Undergraduate MPharm programme. Leanne is currently leading the National Pharmacy Programme in the accreditation of Foundation as the Statutory Education Body for England.
