Lead Pharmacist Great North Children's Hospital, Lead Pharmacist Women's Services, Newcastle Hospitals
Nicola has worked as the Lead Pharmacist for the Great North Children’s Hospital for over 10 years, having started her career in paediatric pharmacy at King’s College Hospital, London. Nicola supports local paediatric pharmacists in other hospitals in the Northern region through the creation of the Great North Paediatric Pharmacist Network, running local study days, sharing of information and guidelines. Nicola is also an active member of the Paediatric Chief Pharmacists Group. Nicola is enthusiastic about improving patient care though innovation, research and quality improvement projects, and has previously secured an NIHR internship and funding for research projects through Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) and Q Community. Nicola works closely with the team at Newcastle School of Pharmacy. Nicola delivers lectures and seminars whilst also working with the teams to design student projects and support final year dissertations. Nicola worked collaboratively with the School of Pharmacy to set up the process of the undergraduate pharmacy students conducting placements at the Great North Children’s Hospital.
