Nuttan Tanna

Dr Nuttan Tanna describes her job remit as one that is both exciting and challenging at the same time. Nuttan runs weekly outpatient medication management clinics; this involves working closely with patients to help them understand how to manage their medical condition and agreeing an ongoing management plan using shared decision making principles. Her specialty areas include Mid-life Women's Health and Osteoporosis / Bone Health, with focus on menopause support, osteoporosis and fracture prevention. She is also involved in multi-disciplinary teaching and training, research, leadership and policy work, and is an independent pharmacist prescriber.
Nuttan is a senior honorary research fellow affiliated with the Department of Public Health & Primary Care, Imperial College, London. She worked with Professor Mitch Blair, lead for the River Island Paediatric Academic Unit on a life course Vitamin D research initiative, with project completion in 2025. She has presented and published widely, both nationally and internationally. She represented the Royal Pharmaceutical Society on the NICE Osteoporosis Guidelines Group and is clinical advisor to the Royal Osteoporosis Society. She has worked with NHSE on the Menopause Clinical Reference Group. She is a senior NIHR CLAHRC fellow with expertise in action research methodology and improvement science and was awarded fellowship by the RPS Faculty in 2015.
