Paul is the East Anglia pharmacy local professional network chair and has been a board member of the Suffolk and North-East Essex STP since 2017 where he has promoted the full integration of all independent contractor groups within the local primary care structure. He is also on the Integrated Care System People Board and has overseen the development of the system’s pharmacy workforce group which is being embedded into the local workforce planning arrangements. Paul is also a senior pharmacy advisor to NHSE&I and chairs the performance advisory group. Prior to this he has been a senior lecturer in pharmacy practice at the University of East Anglia and the chief officer of a local pharmaceutical committee. Earlier in his career he was the chair of the professional executive committee and a primary care trust board member for two PCTs. Paul has an extensive knowledge of community pharmacy as a community pharmacy owner, company area manager and branch manager. Paul’s research interest is in managing limited health literacy and he works with various organisations to develop health literacy processes.
