Pooja is the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellow based at Health Education England (HEE). She has a background in hospital pharmacy where she completed her Masters in Clinical Pharmacy, and most recently had a varied role working as a Medicines Optimisation Lead for Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit where she led on the services provided to Black Country & West Birmingham CCG. She is interested in workforce transformation, leadership across experience levels, environmental sustainability and health promotion/disease prevention. During the fellowship Pooja has had the opportunity to learn from senior leaders and colleagues in the Directorate of Education and Quality. She has been exposed to the wide-ranging portfolio within the HEE National Pharmacy Programme of work, where she is now leading on a project to map post-graduate education and training pathways for pharmacists and technicians, as well as supporting work around apprenticeships. Pooja also sits on the HEE Dean’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Pooja is one of the communications leads for the Inclusive Pharmacy Practice programme, where she alongside colleagues is organising two national webinars for pharmacy professionals around population health management. Pooja is supporting the Aspiring Pharmacy Leaders Programme and is also a committee member for Empowering Student Leadership in Healthcare (ESLIH), where she has been involved in organising a conference for healthcare students.
