Dr Mehta has been a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at Ealing Hospital, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust since January 2010. He is passionate about patient safety, quality improvement and teaching, and has been a member of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee and Medications Safety Group at his organisation for a number of years. As an Endocrinologist he often needs to prescribe medications which if either prescribed incorrectly or omitted may lead to serious patient harm. He is very grateful to have been given the opportunity to speak at this Congress as this will allow him to present some of the recent medications safety quality improvement work he has been doing with the pharmacy and medicines management team locally.
