Shabina Azmi
National Programme Lead – Education Reform: Systems Leadership & Development
As the Regional lead for the Foundation Pharmacist Programme, Shabina is primarily involved in the transformation, support and development of Foundation and Early Careers Pharmacist training. One of her priorities include actively managing and supporting Foundation Pharmacist Training Programme Directors, through leadership and facilitation of networks, in all sectors and leading cross sector opportunities. Shabina is leading on projects to support the pharmacy workforce; this includes the development of the Pharmacy Careers map. This innovative resource has been developed to promote a career in pharmacy. This map and website not only attract those thinking about a career in healthcare but also support those who are early on in their careers in pharmacy and unsure of what steps to take next. Shabina has a background in community pharmacy, academia, policy, private healthcare and civil service. Most notably she was one of the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellows (2018-19) based in Bupa, leading on raising the profile of the pharmacy profession across the business in addition to feeding into national workstreams within NHS England and Arm’s Length Bodies before joining Health Education England.
