Shane is the Pharmacy Dean for the Workforce, Training and Education Directorate at NHS England South East having previously undertaken the role of Associate Head of Pharmacy for Health Education England London and Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. He has a background in hospital Pharmacy, working as a medicines safety officer (MSO) for a large teaching hospital in the South East, and as a specialist pharmacist in admissions and stroke services. He has also spent time working in community pharmacy in the South East and South West of England, and in 2018 undertook a Darzi fellowship in healthcare leadership, working across a range of regional and national workforce transformation programmes, including the NHS Best Place to Work programme. He was an organising lead for TEDxNHS in 2019 and is an active member of the Health Foundation’s Q Community.
