Sharon Meehan is the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Optimisation at Medway NHS Foundation Trust, a role she has held for the past 2.5 years. She leads the Trust’s medicines expenditure Cost Improvement Programme (CIP), alongside medicines optimisation initiatives and complex Trust wide financial and operational medicines projects. Prior to this, she spent 11 years in the Health and Justice sector, including seven years as Lead Pharmacist for Kent Prisons, with earlier roles across London and the West Midlands. She led prison pharmacy contract management and service delivery, developing strong expertise in governance, leadership and system wide medicines optimisation across both the acute and secure healthcare settings.
