Vikash Dodhia

Head of Pharmacy, East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust - Mount Vernon Cancer Centre
Dr Vikash Dodhia qualified as a pharmacist in 1999 and over the past 24 years has worked in all sectors of pharmacy. During his career he has held many senior positions in various organisations including at a board level. His interest lies in the pharmacogenomics of drug metabolism and he holds an MSc and PhD in this area. His PhD from Imperial College London explored the engineering of cytochrome P450 enzymes variants for high throughput applications. He presently holds the position of Head of Pharmacy at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre where he has led and delivered several change management projects including the redesign of the systemic anticancer treatment (SACT) delivery pathways to significantly increase the use of ready to use and administer treatments, the rapid and exponential expansion of non-medical prescribing pharmacists in all solid tumour sites and patient self-administration of subcutaneous breast cancer treatments. The pharmacy department at MVCC has won a number of awards and accolades for enabling access to treatment at home for patients. Vikash is also the Clinical Lead for the NHS England Aseptic Review across the East of England.
