MORPh Associate Director, Senior Lecturer and Specialist Antimicrobial Pharmacist, De Montfort University & Kettering General Hospital
Yasir is a Specialist Antimicrobial Pharmacist working for Kettering General Hospital, Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice for De Montfort Hospital and National Lead for Trainee Pharmacists for MORPh Training. He is also the director of MicroPharm, MicroPharm is an online platform designed to provide high-quality medical education for trainee pharmacists and healthcare professionals. Yasir trained as a pre-registration pharmacist in a community pharmacy and transitioned to a hospital pharmacy role as a cardiorespiratory admissions junior pharmacist. He was subsequently promoted to an on-call junior pharmacist role and rotated through several specialities including respiratory medicine, specialist surgery, geriatric medicine, general medicine and oncology. In his current role, Yasir contributes to the delivery of antimicrobial stewardship within his trust and conducts a weekly diabetic foot infection clinic as an independent prescriber. Yasir delivers antimicrobial training sessions for the trainee pharmacists and pharmacists, these sessions focus on infectious diseases and the pathophysiology of infectious diseases and their management.
