Ziad is a portfolio pharmacist working at national and local level. In his National Pharmacy Integration Lead role at NHS England, Ziad leads on transformation programmes to develop the evidence base that informs future commissioning of clinical pharmacy service models in line with the 10 Year Health Plan priorities. In his clinical role, Ziad is the Lead Primary Care Network (PCN) Pharmacist for Didcot PCN in Oxfordshire, with a particular focus on integrating pharmacy professionals across the system to deliver medicines optimisation at scale. As an independent prescriber, Ziad retains sessional clinics with a special interest in medicines optimisation for patients with multimorbidity and complex polypharmacy. Ziad is also NIHR Associate Principal Investigator and strategically collaborates with the NIHR South Central Regional Research Delivery Network, where he co-leads the region's first coordinated programme to expand clinical research delivery into community pharmacy — work that has secured successive NIHR strategic funding awards.
