Once again, we are delighted to be working with the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association at CPC this year. If you’re looking for clinical updates at CPC, a great starting point would be the sessions delivered by UKCPA. Across the two days, we will have interventions from some of their leading experts on a variety of topics. Practical Skills Zone:

If you’re looking to brush up your skills and enhance your knowledge with new techniques, the hands-on simulation training on offer in the Practical Skills Zone is something you should explore.

There are three different types of sessions on offer in this area, and they can all be booked via the app now.

First of all, there are physical assessment workshops, which will allow you to work with live volunteers to focus on general assessment, respiratory and musculoskeletal systems. Each of the sessions will include a step-by-step demonstration of a general assessment and physical assessment of a patient.

There will also be clinical skills simulations where you will be able to use task trainers, diagnostic aids and medical equipment to practise your clinical skills – focusing on basic observations (vital signs).

Finally, new for this year, we are offering physical assessment practice for independent prescribing. These 1:1/2:1 sessions for pharmacists currently undertaking their independent prescribing course, who have already completed the taught component of the programme, will aid readiness for OSCEs and clinical practice.

Trainee Pharmacist Mini Mock Calculation Workshop:

CPC and Sadia Qayyum are once again offering trainee pharmacists the chance to sit a short mock exam, under exam conditions. The mini mock will test your understanding and application around pharmaceutical calculations, and feedback will be given on each subject immediately after to ensure that every attendee fully understands how to answer all the questions. This will be held once from 13:00-15:00 on Saturday 11 May, and is also now bookable via the app.
